I first began working with Stef last June when I signed up for her personal training sessions. We met twice a week for six months. She then helped me with her on-line training program as well as a nutrition program. Several things impress me about Stef. Of course, she is enthusiastic about fitness, but what is really impressive is her personal knowledge about exercise and nutrition. She is friendly and outgoing; she truly loves what she does and it shows! I have worked with a few other trainers over the years and Stef is absolutely the best. I have always been athletic and I enjoy a variety of activities. She easily designed a program that was custom-made for my interests, capabilities and goals. Not only has the program been effective, but it is never boring, and I got (and continue to get) great results. I also enjoy her Al Fresco group training sessions on Saturday mornings which are lots of fun. I began using Stef’s personal training services six weeks ago. I contacted Stef and we spoke over the phone regarding my goals, needs, and ability to meet and work out. I have two small children and prefer to do the majority of my fitness routine at home. Prior to meeting Stef I had been doing only cardio five to six times a week for over a year and had reached a fitness plateau. The first thing I learned from Stef was that I needed to incorporate weight training into my routine. I have been meeting with Stef once a week. During our sessions she teaches me how to correctly do weight training based exercises that target specific muscle groups and helps me determine the appropriate weight to use for each exercise. Since the time I began following Stef’s recommendations I have already lost five inches! Stef is very friendly and really tries to help you reach your goals. As a long time runner, I have always considered myself to be somewhat fit and in fairly good shape. However, as I approached my "middle years" I noticed that simply running a few miles a day was not enough, and my body was slowly losing its tone and youthful appearance. I needed to do more. I met Stefania on a March of Dimes walk, and after just a few miles, I knew she was just the person I needed to help me get into shape. We've train together for six months, three times a week, and I couldn't be more pleased with my results. I can see a marked difference in muscle tone in my upper body, abdominals and my legs. And best of all, in strengthening my leg muscles, I no longer have knee pain when I run! But what I have enjoyed most about training with Stef, is that I have made a wonderful new friend. I feel Stef takes a genuine interest in each of her clients, and designs the perfect program to suit each one of us. I’m 64, retired, and like too many guys have spent too many hours sitting behind a desk. My “abs” were well protected with some extra layers and my “love handles” were well developed. I walked into a gym a few times, saw a bunch of “torture” devices populated by “20-somethings” who didn’t need to trim anything and quickly decided to drive rapidly past all gyms, in the future. Well, Stefy actually makes exercise almost fun. You have your own personal gym, a customized program to fit your level, and a charming person to guide you along. After only 12 sessions I am stronger and thinner than I have been in many years. And…I actually have a positive attitude about exercising. Stef, As you are aware, I am a 63 year old "Snowbird" man from Pittsburgh, Pa that was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2001. My symptoms are not severe except for limited mobility and strength on my left side. In October of 2007 I started attending your strength and exercise classes at the senior center in Panama City Beach on Mondays and Fridays, and recently some one on one sessions at your gym. When I started I could barely use a 3 pound weight with my left hand and 5 pounds with my right. Thanks to your excellent techniques and extreme patience with me, I now do most of the routine with 8 pounds in each hand. My balance has improved substantially. I have much more energy now and plan on using the custom workouts that you designed for me when I get home in April. My doctor feels that exercise is the primary reason for the slow progression of the disease, and thanks to you I expect to get an excellent report in June. I would suggest that anyone with a disability enroll in either the group classes or the private personal training with you. As your slogan says, you are truly the trainer that really cares. Since I started working with Stefania in July 2007 at the classes at the Panama City Beach Senior Center, I have lost nearly 30 lbs and 3 dress sizes. My energy level has increased substantially and Stefania has taught me how to eat properly to maintain my new body. I am a great grandmother but feel and look younger than most people 10 years my junior. I credit my success to positive thinking and the help that I have received from Stefania.
Carol Patterson _______________________________ Hello I’m Phyllis, a 62 yr old retired psychotherapist from Indiana. My husband and I moved to our condo on Panama City Beach in October 2006. Last fall, I discovered the Panama City Beach Senior Center and the wonderful exercise classes they offer. (It was a little challenge for me to think of myself as a “senior,” but when I went to Stef’s class and saw what “senior” really looks like, I knew I had found what I was looking for). Stef’s strength and exercise classes are so much fun. She has a way of creating an atmosphere where everyone can work at his/her own level. Her classes are challenging, but non-competitive, full of lots of laughter and good humor. They are never boring. Her excellent credentials and commitment to her students are apparent in all that she does. I almost always leave feeling energized and refreshed, ready for the day. Since I loved the sense of growing strength and flexibility that I was getting from the group classes, I took advantage of a Holiday special that Stef was offering for one on one “personal training”. The gym in her home is a perfect place to come for a personal training program. She has seen to all the details….warm colors, relaxing atmosphere, privacy and up to date equipment. The way she approaches training is tailored with great attention to nutrition, to the client’s own fitness goals, starting with a thorough assessment, an individual exercise and nutrition plan, and lots of loving encouragement along the way. It is such a gift to have someone so well qualified, reasonably priced, and available nearby. When I find a really wonderfully opportunity like Steffie’s classes or personal training, I want others to know and benefit. That’s why with great enthusiasm and sincere wishes for well being, I would definitely encourage others to try any of the wonderful services she offers. I feel so strong and healthy….you can, too. Phyllis Defenderer ___________________________________ While my husband and I were in Panama City Beach for two months this winter, I attended some exercise classes at the PCB Senior Center. Twice each week I went to aerobic and strength training classes led by Stef. I found these classes to be challenging and very rewarding. At all times, Stef stressed safety. The exercises were varied and tailored to the abilities of the class members. When I left PCB I was in much better physical condition than when I arrived. When I realized that Stef is a certified personal trainer, I made a private appointment. She assessed my general fitness level and, after listening to my requirements, she designed a program to meet my needs. I returned for a second session so Stef could check my form while I performed the exercises and to make sure that I understood the program. I am now home in Canada and have been following Stef’s program for about a month. Having it in table format makes it easy to follow and the visual aid of recording encourages me to follow through. The exercise descriptions provided by Stef also help keep me on track. I appreciate Stef’s regular e-mail communications too. Stef’s warm engaging personality makes her very approachable. She genuinely enjoys fitness and makes it fun for others. She is extremely knowledgeable in her field and is an enthusiastic professional.
